Red Tavern - San Andreas

I recently had a meal at V Russian, a restaurant adorned with an array of eclectic art. I was very impressed by the delicious beef stroganoff and the tasty dumplings served in a small pot.

This restaurant is quite similar to Dumpling House (formerly known as Eurasia), but it tends to be pricier and the portions are smaller. The beef stroganoff was served with a puff pastry topping and accompanied by kasha, which reminded me of the Hong Kong cafes that also use puff pastry in their dishes. While it was delicious, I found myself wishing for some noodles to soak up the sauce. The varenyky was the best pierogi-like dish I've had in a while, with the sour cream tasting either homemade or at least very thick and flavorful. The pelmeni were excellent, reminiscent of those from Eurasia, making it a great choice for anyone seeking similar flavors without having to travel far. I didn't encounter any issues with overcooked or waterlogged food, as some other reviews mentioned; my meal was cooked to perfection. Although the service was a bit slow during busy times, it was neither rude nor unfriendly in my experience. The decor and presentation may feel a bit outdated to some, resembling a cozy grandmother's living room. Parking in the area can be quite challenging, but overall, I enjoyed my dining experience at this restaurant.

This restaurant has an amazing atmosphere. The food is absolutely exceptional. Every time I dine here, I can't shake the feeling that I'm in an old gangster film.

This is an excellent restaurant! The food was fantastic and arrived very quickly. The soups were definitely the highlight, and the Beef Stroganoff was wonderful as well.
