Le Gourmand - West Toronto

I have been aware of this restaurant for some time and I always return because of their fantastic drinks, delicious pastries, and incredibly soft cookies. On my most recent visit, I tried the dark hot chocolate and a chocolate croissant. I will definitely be back for more tasty snacks. However, I believe the interior could use some improvement as it doesn't seem very comfortable.

This review is strictly about the cookie that everyone talks about.It was incredibly underwhelming and forgettable. The texture was what I like to see in a cookie; crunchy outside and gooey inside. The flavour just wasn’t there. The cookie is actually a 3 star for me but it feels rude to rate the whole establishment a 3 based off a cookie lol

Their cookies are great, I would give those a 6/5 stars. But I had their quiche and it was okay, nothing extraordinary. Their coffee is really good, so I would say that they are a great cafe and pastry shop, and a pretty decent breakfast place.

I got the chance to try their peach iced lemonade on a really hot sunny day. While the lemonade was good, the peach or any other flavor on the lemonade menu is really just a syrup, still delicious though! I also tried their chocolate chip cookie and I think everyone would fall in love with it. It’s the perfect combination of crispy on the outside and hearty at the core. Le Gourmand is a must visit!

Walked by this gem of a place for the past 8 years and never thought to walk in and give their cookies a try. I for one, am not into sweets but have been told by many friends that the cookies here are to die for (I will have to see for myself next time).My spouse and I walked in today to find that this place also serves breakfast, tea and coffee!! We both got the lattes and cheese/egg croissant and loved it. The croissant was pretty flaky and the cheese didn’t melt all the way (which is why the croissant wasn’t soggy, good thing), the egg was cooked just ok, tasted a little bland but I like it like that. The latte art was amazing, I think I got a bird or some type of peacock on mines. It was definitely made with love.They have so many different types of cheesecake here, all of them looked so damn good, I must try it next time. Especially the shibuya cake!!The interior of Le Gourmand reminded me of the restaurants back in the days in old Toronto everything’s wooden and brown, with a nice fireplace. It has this old school charm which is hard to find nowadays in the city so it’s nice to see this kind of space every once in a while.
