Bourbon Highway - Walnut Creek

Caution: There's no indication on OpenTable that this venue turns into "a bar with a $10 cover charge" at 8 PM on Fridays and Saturdays! I had made a dinner reservation for myself, my husband, and our two daughters for 8 PM. Upon arrival, we were rudely denied entry by a security guard who treated us as if we were committing a crime by bringing children to a nightclub. For a brief moment, I thought he was joking, but he was serious and continued to speak to us as if we were in the wrong for showing up to our reservation. No one under 21 is allowed after 8 PM! What a disappointment. We understandably left and fortunately found another restaurant to dine at. What a shame for this place! When we walked back past it on our way to the car shortly after 9 PM on a Friday, it was nearly empty. They've lost our business for good. I’m still shocked by the rudeness and total disregard for customers. The security guard on a power trip wouldn’t even let me go inside to cancel my reservation, which I couldn’t do on the OpenTable app since it thought we were already dining there. When we got home, I had to give 1 star in each category just to leave this review, even though we didn't actually stay. Such a sad situation. Management, what are you thinking?? At the very least, make it clear to your customers! You want to charge a cover fee at the door without even having a live band? Incredible. Just incredible.

There was no live music as advertised on the website, which was disappointing.

After a long day of moving, we were tired, hungry, and in need of a drink. Bourbon Highway was the first place with an open reservation we found, and we’re so thankful we did! Despite the bustling restaurant, our server patiently answered all our questions. Our drinks were fantastic, and the food was amazing. We hope to return soon to relax, enjoy good food and drinks, and catch a game.

Food was amazing, waiter was knowledgeable of alcohol beverages and the energy and vibe was beautiful. This was my 1st time as I follow Mama Foxxy to many of her venues. I will be returning for the food and beautiful vibe. Thank you

Went for a birthday celebration especially to hear live country western music. No music on Sat night, 3/11! We were ver disappointed as we were told by restaurant personnel prior to our revs there would be music! Not cool.
