Me Va Me Express - Vaughan

I have been coming to Me Va Me for years, usually to this express location. The food tastes amazing, nothing bad to say there. My rating is mostly based on my experience last time. From then on, I have been going to Sofra instead as the food is basically the same, but the prices are different and I have experienced better customer service. I wanted a salad. Just a salad. So I went to the express and ordered a house salad. I see on the menu it was listed as one price, but I got charged more, I can 't remember now exactly, but it was about two bucks more. I paid ~10 for a simple house salad (small size). When I asked, why I am looking at the price on the board in front of me, while being charged more, I was explained that the price is more if you do not add on meat. Does this make sense to you? Salad is say 7.99, but you get charged 10 because you didn 't get chicken. That is not how it is supposed to work. Salad is supposed to be x price, or x y if you want an add on. Not more because you are not getting an add on. The guy helping me was like, Oh, you are the first person to ever say anything. Ugh, ok, thanks guy for totally dismissing my point. He was sarcastic and asked if I wanted to talk to the owner, who wasn 't there, and never is. I did actually ask for the contact number for one of the managers and called her the next day, and she basically explained the same thing, but did imply that it is silly. She did not apologize. She did not offer compensation. I just asked to pay for what I saw on the board, I don 't think that is much to ask. It 's a matter of principle. So the next day I went to Sofra for the same take out salad (which is cheaper btw when you get take out), and it cost significantly less for the same salad, and they do not charge you more if you do not add on chicken. Overall, it was such a ridiculous experience, that I don 't plan on returning.

Used to be way better! Food dsnt taste the same, the makeur order inside not infront of u anymore... feels like slaking off

I love it. The food was fantastic. And the service was terrific. We shared the dips. I had the chicken schnitzel. So yummy.

2.5 There's lots of Me Va Me locations, so I decided to finally venture in and try it out. It was ok...but nothing too special. I didn't get the Mediterranean food here which is their signature cuisine, and instead opted for salad and soup as I was in the mood for a light lunch. The soup is the soup of the day so it varies, so I got broccoli on the day I visited. It was pretty good, but I would say you could easily make it at home. Same thing with the salad good taste and fresh but easy to make at home. I think I paid some amount close to $13 with tax...this is what really affected my rating. The service and food taste is fine, but for what you are getting I don't think it's particularly worth it. I may try Me Va Me again if they are having daily specials, but there are comparable places in the area with bigger portion sizes and similar dishes at a much better price point.

The biggest shawarma sandwich in town. Lots of options for toppings and sauce with delicious bread which is not pita. I have always got food from their express restaurant for take out so I can't really comment on the full menu and service. I have never been able to finish a sandwich in one go so for me the sandwich almost always ends up being two meals. Food: 4.5/5 Price: 5/5 Service and atmosphere: N/A Overall: 4/5
