Bidrage med feedbackIn typical fashion, the portions were generous—usually enough for 2-3 people—which is fantastic for delivery. However, in terms of flavor, the dishes were a bit disappointing and not as tasty as I had hoped. I suspect that dining in at the restaurant would provide a much better experience, as my colleagues felt similarly about their meals. While it was a little disappointing, I understand that takeout can sometimes miss the mark. I would still recommend Joyful Chinese Dining and suggest trying different dishes. If you have the opportunity, I would encourage you to visit the restaurant in person for a more enjoyable meal.
I had the opportunity to try the chicken at Joyful House, and it was incredible. Next time, I’ll definitely order it again.
There are many Chinese restaurants in this area, but Joyful is my favorite! I have ordered a few times an exception from them, and they are on time, with consistently good food and good quality, as far as I can say! It's kind of hidden against the back of a sleepy little strip-mask, so you could miss it if you don't look for it... but you will be sorry! Overall, I can recommend a really good Chinese restaurant.
The vegetables were fantastic—crisp but cooked, flavorful without being overly saucy, and there was a beautiful variety. The almond chicken was delicious, featuring higher quality vegetables than you'll find in similar dishes elsewhere. I didn't try the shrimp, but I heard it was good (though be aware that it's not New York-style sauce if that's what you prefer). There was a slight mix-up with the soup; we received egg drop soup instead, but it was still tasty. For me, the star of the meal was the mapo tofu. Unlike the 'brown gravy' versions at other places, Joyful’s dish had a chili oil base that was absolutely delicious—flavorful but not overpowering. The tofu was high quality, with large pieces that held their shape in the sauce, just the right amount of ground pork, and the perfect touch of diced seasonings like green onions and garlic. This dish truly captured the essence of authentic Chinese cuisine compared to its Americanized counterparts. The portion sizes were reasonable and offered good value. This was my first visit, but even on a busy Friday night (when dine-in was not available due to current circumstances), the service was friendly. My order was prepared and ready, as promised, in 20 minutes, and I will definitely be returning. Just a heads up: they get busy, and you may need to call a few times to successfully place your order, but based on today’s experience, the effort is worth it.
