Patty's Off-center Cafe - Salem

This is a cute, clean little place with absolutely AMAZING service and food! The waitresses and Patty were doing their best and making sure everyone was taken care of and the cook was grumpy and hostile to her for talking with us. We love coming to Patty's but it is always busy, but the wait is never too long, that is to be expected with a full restaurant. Even though the chef is crabby everything we had was perfectly cooked, exactly as we ordered it, which in this day and age a rare thing. I had the Uncle Mikes Red Neck Benedict, the herb scratch made biscuit was a nice addition, and my husband had the chicken fried steak. It is everything you want, it’s hand breaded and the gravy is homemade and super tasty. It took over 25 minutes to get our food is worth the wait but be aware there is a bit of a wait. For those of you that are vegetarian or are allergy-sensitive they have options for you as well. I highly recommend this restaurant! If you live in Salem-Keizer area and have you not been here you don't know what you are missing! Don't wait come check them out.

Great food with pleasant staff at a really good price. Really liked the old school diner vibe.

The man at the restaurant was very rude and insisted on repeatedly pointing out the specials, even after I told him I could see them. I will not be returning to this establishment.

My wife and I went here on a Sunday morning, stopping to catch “second breakfast” after biking 30 miles on a tour, and to wait for the Amtrak train for which we were two hours early. The friendly staff tucked our loaded bikes into a little locked room, so we didn’t have to keep watching them and could just enjoy our meal. And what a meal it was. I got one of the daily specials lemon poppyseed pancakes and a side of bacon while my wife had apple pancakes with apple butter syrup, two eggs over easy, and sausage links. Everything was delicious, and service was almost fawning (in spite of a house full of hungry people). We may have to bike through here again just so we can try the lunch menu!
