Rudy's Steakhouse - Salem

My jam for happy hour. I love the steak bites. The fries are delicious! The service was fantastic. Thank you, Cody! I highly recommend just staying in the bar. I have eaten out in the main dining room, and on the outside patio which are both lovely. This recommendation was provided to me by The Eat Guide and I've been back many times.

Ambiance: awesome so cozy upon entrance. Fire places and candles were the flavor of the restaurant cute. Service: the service was great! Everyone was fantastically charming and appeared to be genuine. Our waiter had lots of personality, demonstrated knowledge, and offered the exact amount of concern for our table; he couldn 't have been better. Food: the food is the only reason I 'm holding back the fifth star. I didn 't have any appetizers so I don 't have those to rate; however, I did have the salmon, and it was cooked exactly how I like it, nonetheless, I asked for double the veggies vs the potatoes, and the plate was a tad small in portion. On the other hand, my hubs and coworker enjoyed the stuffed salmon, and they mentioned that "it was nothing to write home about and it all could 've been hotter. Word was that the mashed potatoes were room temperature and just okay. Lastly was the clam chowder again, not hot and a tad stiffer than preferred. Rudy 's is a place that I 'd most likely visit again if I were in town because 1) there 's not a whole lot in Salem, 2) great overall experience. However, they just need to tighten up the kitchen or get runners to bring the food out as soon as it 's ready. The question is, should you try them out? Yes. They have a nice menu, good wine, and quaint ambiance. The food has potential as well, just needs a tiny tweaking. Happy eating!

The food was actually really good and the server was very kind. There were a few problems that I would have happily overlooked if the management had addressed it. My husband and I were celebrating my birthday and we didn't mind taking our time. The food took about an hour to get out to us but that didn't bother me. They were very busy as it was a prom night and a Saturday. My main complaint is that I ordered a sirloin steak and they accidentally gave me a filet mignon which was quite a bit more expensive. I didn't realize the different because I do not eat steak very often. If I had known I was going to spend more on my dinner I would have gotten something else on the menu. When the bill came and I asked the server he told me he accidentally put the wrong order in. He asked management and they said since I ate it I had to pay for the filet instead of what I ordered. So odd to me. We didn't want to make a big deal of it so we paid and tipped nicely as the sever was kind. But afterwards I thought, what if their servers do this regularly and if the customer doesn't know better they get taken advantage of? Our dinner ended up being around 200 with tip and I think it would have been nice for the management to care more about their customer service. I wouldn't go back even though I thought the food was very good.

My mom and I visit here often and have never been disappointed. We had the Opportunity to meet Jordan , our server and she is so delightful and gracious to make sure we were comfortable in our favorite space to sit on the outdoor patio . We split the prime rib , salad and baked potato and all of it was fine cuisine!!! We are still talking out how great our experience was. We look forward to visit here again !! Thank you Jordan for your kindness and being attentive to us! What a great team Rudy"s Steak house has!! It sure makes a difference!!! Grateful!

Early afternoon Happy Hour is the perfect time for an Apple Gorgonzola Chicken Salad. The candied walnuts and the poppyseed vinaigrette come together perfectly along with the grilled chicken breast which was super tasty and moist. It was really chill and relaxing sitting outside in the courtyard. I also saw someone having a Cobb Salad and the that looked even better but I guess I won't know how good it really is till next time. As for the service the waitress was friendly and dialed in.
