Bidrage med feedbackWhat a fantastic discovery! I was craving ice cream, and my sister-in-law told me about AJs and how great the ice cream is, so we decided to check it out. Sarah, the girl working in the ice cream section, was delightful. She made us fresh waffle cones right there, and the combination of the warm cone with the cold, delicious ice cream was incredible. We promised Sarah that we would return to try the food at Andy's Susie Too along with the ice cream next time. Who knew Naples had such amazing ice cream? Now, if only we could find a decent bagel, life would be perfect!
The restaurant is split into a diner on one side and an ice cream parlor on the other, located in the Public strip mall at the corner of 41 Thomasson/Rattlesnake Hammock, closest to Culver's. You enter through the ice cream side, which is likely intended to tease you with all the delectable options before you settle into the diner. There is seating available on the ice cream side as well if that’s what you’re looking for. Our server was charming and full of energy, and a few other staff members checked in on us during our visit—they were all lovely. I opted for the soup and sandwich combo, choosing the pastrami Reuben and chili. Since our mission was to sample milkshakes, I couldn’t resist ordering a chocolate peanut butter shake. My nephew, becoming quite the foodie at just 10 years old, ordered a medium-rare burger topped with cheese, bacon, and an egg cooked over easy, along with a chocolate milkshake. Before diving into the shakes, let me say that the Reuben was absolutely delicious. They must use a secret ingredient in their sauerkraut because it was that good. Even without the milkshake, I would have left satisfied. When the shake arrived, it came in a classic old-fashioned milkshake glass with one of those extra-wide straws. That first slurp? Unforgettable! WOW! This is what a shake should taste like! My nephew quickly agreed that it was the best shake he had ever had, surpassing all the others he liked. The Shake Shop has nothing on these guys! I left the diner feeling like the best and coolest aunt ever! I will definitely be back. However, I did take off a star because we were near the shift change, which meant we waited quite a while for our check—eventually having to ask for it after the staff had all disappeared to the back. Also, the place could have been tidier, which I suspect was due to the busy Sunday breakfast rush.
This place is wonderful! The shakes are fantastic, and the staff is extremely friendly. It's a charming mom-and-pop alternative to Cracker Barrel or Culvers, offering a more personal touch. We received a warm welcome from everyone when we arrived, and the food was great.
Upon entering, I noticed a line, which can be a hit or miss, but in this case, it was all positive. The first impressions from the staff were excellent. The wait was minimal since the floor manager/hostess efficiently managed the flow, ensuring all tables were attended to and staff were alerted to areas needing attention. Despite the busy atmosphere, the service was impressive; the staff remained focused on their tables and provided friendly, prompt service. One incident that stood out was when my wife accidentally dropped her rollup. The server promptly replaced it without hesitation. These thoughtful touches greatly contributed to my satisfaction with my choice of Andy Susie's Too AJ Ice Cream for Sunday brunch. As it was my first visit, I looked for something featuring biscuits, sausage, and gravy, and found the Country Benedict, which included all those elements topped with a poached egg. This hearty combination made for a delightful breakfast. The menu offers a wide array of choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, ensuring there’s something for everyone. We also opted for the stuffed French toast topped with strawberries for a sweet treat to share. The food arrived promptly thanks to a diligent runner who ensured all tables received the attention they needed before moving on. The focus on service impressed me, and I truly appreciated their attention to detail. All the dishes were served hot and made to order. The biscuits were exactly how I like them—cake-like and crumbly—which paired wonderfully with the sausage gravy and poached egg. The stuffed French toast was a delightful finish to my meal, the strawberry sauce adding just the right touch. Next time, I plan to try the full-service ice cream bar, which was quiet during my visit, likely because it was still before noon. I also took the opportunity to chat with the owner, Andy, who is also the head chef. I appreciated him taking time from the kitchen to connect with me, and I assured him that I would return, as this restaurant has definitely earned a spot on my Sunday brunch list. I love seeing small businesses thrive, and based on their previous location, this new venue is a positive step forward. With the ongoing development of new communities in the area, the location is perfect for growth. Given Andy's 20 years of experience running successful restaurants, I'm confident that this place will continue to flourish. They made a fantastic first impression on me in 2015!
We drove from West Palm Beach to explore the Naples Botanical Garden and decided to stop here for dinner. Although we typically read reviews beforehand, we chose this place on a whim as we drove through the plaza and spotted it in the corner. It turned out to be a delightful experience! The food was outstanding and incredibly fresh, and I particularly enjoyed the French fries. The staff was fantastic—friendly and helpful. Overall, it had a charming small-town atmosphere that made our visit even more enjoyable.
