Villa Amato - Lake Toxaway

I highly recommend this place which can be easy to miss on your way to Highlands from Brevard. First I would like to say the place has a nice warm feel and you can bring your own wine is a bonus. We ordered the Lasagna and later ordered a 14 inch meat lovers pizza with garlic extra crispy. When the Lasagna came out it was hot and very delicious the tomato sauce was outstanding. When the pizza came out it was cooked perfectly with pieces of meatballs and spicy sausage ham bacon and pepperoni. It was also outstanding. I hope that you get the chance to eat some nice Italian food.Parking: Next to a Market convenience store across the street is an ice cream shop

We tried calling and placing an order but when we called a hour prior to closing they refused to make pizza.So I can't say if the flavor is good but I can say they lost a customer.

Today, I called to place a takeout order, only to be told they were out of pizzas. I couldn’t believe it—after all, it's a pizza place! I said I would call back in five minutes to order something else instead. When I called back, the phone just kept ringing. After driving 30 minutes to get there, I walked in only to be informed by the person at the counter that they were no longer taking orders for the night. I expressed my frustration, saying it would have been nice if someone had answered the phone, so I wouldn't have wasted my time driving for average food in a lackluster environment. You’re going to need local support when the tourists leave, and if the food and atmosphere don’t improve, we’ll be taking our business elsewhere—maybe even to Pizza Hut.
