Whiteside Brewing - Cashiers

Great Brewery. Amazing setup. Stopped in while hiking in NC and wasn't disappointed. They have a lot of seating inside and deck seating. Plenty of TVs. There is a large patio that was playing a football game on a big screen. Most of it is covered by shades or a massive pergola. There is also large field for the kiddos or even adults to run around on. Very dog friendly, lots of water bowls on the patio and they sold treats inside. The beer was super delicious. We just needed a snack so we ordered the kids chicken tendies w/ fries. I will say the star of the show was the ranch. If in the area definitely going back. ! Wish we could've stayed longer but a 2 hour drive back home isn't ideal after many beers. Lol.

The location and atmosphere of the place was awesome. They have indoor and outdoor dining available. Outdoor dining has heaters and a huge play area for the kids. Some people have said that they don't like placing their order at a counter and not having a server but we loved it! If you need something, you go get it and they bring out your food to you. Doesn't get much more simpler than that to us. The selection and quality of beer on tap was great! They let you taste one before you buy so you know if you like it. Can't remember the barkeeps name but he was so friendly and make finding a beer super easy! The food for the most part was great. The only real issue we had was that one in our party ordered the smash burger, which the place has a sign stating they won an award for, but my friend couldn't eat it. She said it didn't have any flavor and was coated in grease. I share my sandwich with her and she enjoyed it. I got the Rachel which was awesome. Appetizer wise we got the pretzel bites (amazing) and the French onion dip (delicious). I just wish the French onion dip had a little more pizazz to it. It tasted like something I could have gotten from the grocery store (still yummy just expecting more) Dog friendly which is a huge plus!

Cool local vibe, big lawn in the back for kids to play, dog friendly, good beer. What worse do you need? One of our go to places in Cashiers.

This has always been a must go to place since we first came to Cashiers 5 years ago. It was good beer, good food, and a good setting. Unfortunately, something changed since we were here a year ago. We ordered 2 of their smash burgers at 15$ apiece and I can say, without a doubt, they were the worst burgers we have ever eaten! Smashed down to 1/4 patty with no taste, and smothered in a chopped lettuce/onion/sauce combo that made them almost impossible to eat. On top of that, I was called back after paying a $51 bill and told that a $7 charge did not go through. Manager said he would just not charge that amount and we would be even. Unfortunately, that did not happen and my Capitol One account shows a $61.07 charge. Will not be back to a once favorite place. Too many other brewpubs to go to.

Great brewery and food looked excellent. Did not order food this trip as we just stopped by for a cold brew to check it out. I went on a holiday weekend, so not the best call on my part. It was very crowded but this is just indicative of how much people enjoyed this place. We do plan to go again when less crowded and can get the full experience. The service was great considering the volume of people it was well handled.
