Bidrage med feedbackA group of four dined on a Saturday night at this restaurant having it been recommended by others. it is a busy place where family and friends can meet, enjoy great food and some drinks. Best to try and get a table out the back though part is uncovered. It may not be suitable for young kids so check with restaurant we high chairs etc. Up the front you may need to share the long tables with others. With one bottle of wine, a jug of sangria and meals , the bill was around $60 a head. No BYO as it it is fully licensed. It seems a clear intention that the staff must deliver friendly service because every one we spoke to was delightful and helpful. But the food here is the key, it says it is mostly Turkish with some Mexican/Sth American flavours/spices but the tastes are different from the standard fare. We had a series of share dishes and couldn't fault any of them. Only problem was we ordered too many. Some beautiful vegetarian dishes like blackened pumpkin with chimichurri, feta and toaster almonds-delicious and healthy!. I loved the zucchini balls; hummus with chilli; smoked roasted beetroot; smoked labne; and also the harissa roasted chicken. We had ordered the smoked roasted lamb dish but before the started it we cancelled it because we were already full. We enjoyed the night and certainly will go back to try other dishes.
Just loved it!It certainly doesn't look much from the outside & is in a somewhat dilapidated section of Canterbury Rd which would be easy to overlook, but don't. The tables are shared but we certainly didn't feel crowded. The staff there are really exceptional & amongst the best I've ever come across. Our waitress took care to carefully explain how the menu worked (all shared plates) with a genuine warmth & enthusiasm which is extremely rare. We had a party of 4 & selected the smoked beetroot with herbed feta (with house bread), mixed marinated mushrooms (my absolute favourite), ember blackened pumpkin w pepita (perfectly cooked & a close 2nd favourite), zucchini herb balls & to finish the flamed broccoli. We ate all vegetarian, but the menu also included a chicken, a lamb & an octopus dish. My one small gripe was that we had to purchase the house bread with the beetroot dish- if you have to have bread to eat & enjoy this, I really think it should be included with the dish. Prices are very reasonable & I will definitely be back, but it will take a while to eat through the menu because the mushrooms & the pumpkin will ALWAYS be in my order
Have been a couple of times and think the food is amazing but last night when we did the 58pp set menu there was waaaaayyyy too much food. It also came so fast. We ordered and boom- there were 8 plates on the table! There were only 4 of us and by the time the lamb (which is to die for) came out we were so full we didn't touch it, or the chicken (they did make for great lunch and dinner today though). The staff are really friendly and I love the food- I just think it suffers from too much of a good thing. Wouldn't stop me going back- i'd just make sure to go in a bigger group! Also- I thought the cocktails were a bit weak, yummy but could pack a bit more of a punch!
Introduced by a friend and enjoyed a great winter mid-week dinner. Staff are very friendly and relaxed yet professional staff (except, a tasting of the wine wasn't offered). Food is mostly sharing and very well presented with great taste combinations. A cool inner-west vibe along a lonely stretch of Canterbury Rd, highly recommended.
Was recommended Pazar by a work colleague and it sure did not disappoint! Greeted and seated promptly with a warm, friendly smile. Menu and ordering process was well explained by the waitperson. Meals are designed to be shared around your table. A tasting menu is available - 10 dishes for $58 pp. We considered this option however the four of us were quite content with a bread and dip entree followed by four mains (taking a doggy bag home to boot). Kitchen/prep and bar area is open and transparent and tables closer to this area would possibly add to your dining experience. We were happy with the bench and stool setup near the entry. Prepare for a wonderful variety of dishes that are full of flavour! Closest off street parking is most likely Gould Street approx 200 metre walk to Pazar. One word - enjoy!
