Connells Bakery - WONTHAGGI

Surprisingly large bakery selling a wide range of baked goods. We called in for lunch on a very cold, wet and wintery day and enjoyed some very fresh food, great quality and tasty. Friendly staff and good prices. Excellent quality, freshly made pies etc, fresh sandwiches, tea, coffee, drinks - very good range of cakes.

First time here having my staple winter lunch, hot pie, strawberry big M and hedgehog slice.The pie was beautiful and a great size, but unfortunately only mildly warm, I hate that.Hedgehog slice, while it was a lovely consistency, it lacked flavour. You can tell by the color that cheap cocoa powder was used. Don't skimp on this one important ingredient, use a good quality Dutch cocoa powder, yes it's more expensive, but charge another 20cents to cover that cost. You will have a 10/10 hedgehog slice then.

Called in for a light lunch. Plenty of choices and the food was very good and portions were 'country-style'. The coffee was very good. Purchased bread on the visit, and this was also very good. Great for a quick snack, with quality food.

Cane here because the night before we saw it was very crowded so we decided to give it a shot.
