Centro CBD - Wollongong

I had penetrated here 18 months ago and was glad to bring my wife to try. first, the drinks were good, and the service attentive. secondly, both the disappointing (arancini balls and calamari) were understated, slandered and disappointing. thirdly, the main thing:...I had bouillabaisse (a strange offer in an Italian restaurant) and I would have had more sense, because I did not want a large cup of olive oil with two mosquitoes, two garnels and a shrimp. it was accompanied by two small pieces of “pee” and in totality, hardly a main course, even if they are a lover of oil. the crab gnocchi of my wife was little more than potato dumplings; it would not have had more than a teaspoon of crumb meat in it, and the linear concoction floated in an oily suppe. Perhaps we have decided badly, but we will not know because we are not willing to make another 150 dollars in the preparation of the chef a second chance.

Went to Centro for dinner after a show at IPAC - very convenient and have been meaning to try this restaurant for some time. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and did not rush us even as we were the last in the restaurant after what appeared to be a quiet night for them. Food was well prepared, well timed and good portion sizes (not too large!). Good vegetarian options as well.

Rang ahead to make a booking and to start things off they mucked that up completely and were very rude about it as if it was a real imposition even though the restaurant was almost empty (I am not surprised). Very poor service throughout the meal - not once were we asked how was your entree/main or would you like some more wine or water or coffee etc etc. Seafood was terribly overlooked to the point it was inedible, chicken was well overdone and bone dry and chewy with a milky tasteless sauce, pasta was all butter and void of any taste. Cannelloni was good no complaints. For an expensive a la crate dining experience it's best to choose any number of restaurants in the near vicinity as the food was completely mediocre at best and very poor service from start to finish particularly given it is far from cheap. On paying our bill there was still no mention of how was your meal or thank you for coming hopefully see you next time. Cross this restaurant off your list as we will definitely not be returning or recommending it to any family, friends or even enemies. All things considered a very disappointing experience!!

Beautiful meal, more on the pricier side, but you get that as it is one of the fancier restaurants in Wollongong

My wife and I always enjoyed eating here until they changed the chicken meal But chicken macadamia is back and well liked by my better half I enjoyed the penne salmon and prawns Will be back
