Bidrage med feedbackWhat a charming little place! Our server was friendly and attentive. We ordered a cheeseburger with an extra patty and truffle fries, both of which were excellent! The truffle fries were absolutely amazing! I also tried the country Benedict, which consisted of a cheddar biscuit topped with fried eggs and smothered in gravy, accompanied by cubed potatoes—delicious! The loaded potato soup was fantastic as well. I had the meatloaf sandwich with the truffle fries, and once again, those fries (though a bit pricey at a $4 upcharge) were phenomenal. However, the meatloaf had some charring; I managed to eat about three bites before trying to scrape off the burnt parts, as it seemed to be charred only on one side. When I brought it to the server's attention, she didn’t offer an apology, simply asking if I wanted them to take it off my bill. They did end up taking half the cost off the sandwich. Since we drove two hours to get there, I probably won’t make a special trip again, but if I did, those truffle fries would definitely be on my order!
The beet salad was delightful, and the potato soup was the best we've ever tasted. The service was friendly, and sitting upstairs with a view of the street was a lovely experience. The lavender lemonade had a pleasantly subdued flavor.
If you're looking for a unique dining experience, this is the place to visit! The atmosphere is cozy, the music selection is great, and there's plenty of space, so you won't be bumping into your neighbors while moving around the restaurant. The wait staff is friendly and polite. The food is delicious, offering a variety of options with generous portion sizes! They serve your steak on a hot stone and guide you on how long to cook it, even providing a timer for your table. The meat was cooked to perfection! My husband, who frequently orders steak at restaurants, usually complains that it's not cooked the way he likes it. However, this time, he couldn't stop praising it. Not only was it cooked to his liking, but the seasoning was also fantastic! We would definitely recommend High Rock Cafe and plan to dine here again! - Asha
As for the food, it was acceptable but lacked flavor. Two of us ordered the fish fry; mine was beer-battered and definitely needed tartar sauce to enhance the taste. My friend chose the panko-breaded option and, after a taste test, claimed it was superior to mine. The third member of our party opted for soup (corn chowder) and salad, but was left disappointed by the blandness of the soup. Overall, while the experience had its highlights, the food could definitely use some improvement in terms of flavor.
