Bidrage med feedbackThe food here was very good (a little salty). We had the foie gras, salmon, tenderloin with carrots and potatoes, all were good. Expect to spend around $200 for a couple to eat here, including drinks. The service was on point!! If I were to change anything it would be to reduce the salt in the recipes by about 1/3. I really enjoyed the thoughtfulness in the decor, dishes and cutlery.
Attended NYE Dinner. Food and ambience were amazing and the staff were very friendly.Need to return to try more food! The lamb was perfect.
Sous Sol has a really unique vibe (i.e: candles on the tables, decorations, furniture). The servers were friendly but nothing exceptional about the services. They will not check on you or your food after the food came or explain/make suggestions on the menu. We ordered quite a bit of different dishes but the highlight turned out to be the bread and butter. All the appetizers were decent, and the dessert was good. However, we were pretty disappointed with the main since they were too salty. The tenderloin was really juicy/tender/high quality but it was just too salty. However, given this amount of food/drink and the quality of their ingredients, the price is pretty good especially compared to other steakhouses in town (main reasons I gave 4 stars). I don’t think we will come back, but it’s good to try it out at least once. Our bill was about 200$/2person.
I really want to write a bad review, because the responses from the owner are a-mazing, but...the meal was so wonderful, I have to speak our truth. This is a great experience in Winnipeg and a wonderful way to end our journey from Quebec to Winnipeg.
Enjoyed our first time at Sous Sol. Great vibe with unique decor. Tried the S.S. minnow, which was a fun and great tasting drink with a marshmallow to roast. We went with the fois gras, bone marrow, bread, potatoes daphinoise, duck confit, and wild boar. All the dishes had flavors that complemented eachother and left us too stuffed for dessert. I will definitely be back. Thanks for the great dinner and experience.Wheelchair accessibility: You have to go down a set of stairs with no ramp to get inside.
