Bidrage med feedbackThis restaurant definitely deserves a 5-star rating, despite a few order mix-ups. The staff were exceptional, from the warm welcome to attentive service. The atmosphere was inviting and enjoyable. I would rate the food about 80%. There were mistakes with the burgers – they came with bacon when I ordered them without, and they were cooked well done instead of medium. However, the portions were generous and the flavors were delicious. Thank you!
Conveniently located right off of exit 212, off of I-75, in West Branch. Restaurant has a log cabin/ hunting lodge feel to it with the decor. It is also connected to the Quality Inn, and has a gift shop. Our waitress other staff were nice friendly.Food was good, but could be better. My wife and I started with the poutine fries for an appetizer, which were delicious. Then Ihad the bacon cheeseburger and fries, which was ok, but not even close to better I've had. My wife had the Mushroom Swiss burgerand fries. Unfortunately, my wife found a hair in her food and sent it back. They remade it for her, and after the wait and theinconvenience, the manager didn't come talk to us (which is usually the norm in restaurants) they didn't even offer adiscount. She ended up only eating part of the burger and some of the fries, brought the rest home.
When the second order arrived 25 minutes later, it was slightly better, but the fries were old and cold, the coleslaw was warm, and the fish was unevenly cooked and tasted burnt. This usually happens when frying oil is old and overheated, causing the batter to burn while the inside remains undercooked. I should have sent it back again, but I was too hungry, so I ate it and just said it was fine. The takeaway from this experience is that the restaurant is closed two days a week. I suggest changing the fryer oil on Fridays and designating one fryer specifically for fish and seafood. Also, when the fish comes out, it should be placed on cardboard (like a produce case top) for a moment to let the oil drain off properly. If management sees that the oil looks dark and is smoking, it definitely needs to be replaced! Additionally, they should never serve a re-fired plate without freshening it up. Honestly, for a $30 dinner, I could have saved $20 and gone to Culver’s across the street, which would have been a better choice!
The service and food were outstanding! They have a great selection of bottled and draft beers, as well as a variety of other drinks, steaks, and additional meals. I tried the chili cheese fries, and they were incredible; the black bean chili would have also been superb served in a bowl or cup. The homemade blueberry pecan bread pudding was absolutely delicious. I also ordered takeout for another meal: the sausage dish with sautéed fresh vegetables on the side, and both were fantastic as well. Lorren and the entire staff were amazing, and I will definitely make it a point to visit again in West Branch.
Inside store alot of neat souvenir. We were here along time ago and food was very good. This time not so hot paided $16.99 for Irish fish and chips 3 piece of fish 1x1 squares very dry, sauce ok fries nothing special. Husband got 1/2 slab of ribs, makesure you ask for extra sauce, not much on.
