Logger's Depot - West Branch

If I could give this place zero stars, I definitely would. I started with the spinach artichoke dip as an appetizer, but it was bland and I only received three tablespoons of it. My husband ordered the deep-fried shrimp basket, which came with a shrimp cocktail sauce that had Sriracha mixed in. I chose the chicken naan sandwich, which was supposed to have their signature Michigan cherry BBQ sauce. However, my first bite tasted like maraschino cherries or some kind of cherry extract. When I asked the waitress, she confirmed it was maraschino juice. The flavor was awful. I took two bites, my husband took one, and we both agreed it was unpleasant. Unfortunately, the waitress and supervisor were unwilling to adjust our bill and made it clear that they do not uphold a satisfaction guarantee at their establishment. The supervisor even stated that the customer is never right.

I walked in to find three tables that were dirty and needed cleaning. It took five minutes before I was seated. After that, I waited an additional ten minutes with no one coming over to take my drink or food orders. Eventually, I decided to get up and leave. At this point, I don’t even care if their food is good. With service like that, the quality of the food is irrelevant.

I ordered takeout that included fries and wings, and I'm writing this review because they truly care about their customers. The food is always fantastic here, but what impressed me this time was the thoughtfulness in how my order was packed. Whoever prepared it poked holes in the tops of the containers to let the steam escape, ensuring that my food stayed nice and crispy instead of becoming soggy. I've never seen anyone do that before, and I felt it was worth mentioning! It really shows the attention to detail they put into their service. Thank you!

Friendly staff and great food at affordable prices.

The wife and I had an amazing time. The food was generous and delicious. The owner was personable checking on us at our table. The young lady server in the sunflower dress in the morning was completely lovely. Parking: Parking in the rear and on the street.
