Great spot in Shamley Green with delicious sourdough pizzas at a reasonable price. Perfect location. Definitely recommend.

I met up with friends for a Sunday lunch at this wonderful pub. Four of us decided to try one of their delicious Sunday Roasts, which we all enjoyed so much that we kept sharing bites of the tasty meat. The other two in our group ordered dishes from the regular menu - one got a Brazilian fish stew and the other had a flavorful potato dish (I can't remember the name). We had a great time overall. The pub's manager was very impressive, friendly, and engaged with our group. His knowledge of the menu and passion for food were evident and appreciated. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was fantastic, and the ales were surprisingly good. We had a fantastic visit and thank all the staff at the Red Lion for making our day special.

The Red Lion is an exceptional restaurant with a warm and inviting ambiance, and top-notch service. The food is beyond delicious - it's truly outstanding! An extra perk is that the restaurant is dog-friendly and has a menu specifically for our four-legged friends. It is our go-to spot for special occasions or when we're in the mood for a fantastic Sunday roast.

Just had the best Pork Belly I've had in many years. Beautifully presented, served with a warm, hospitable, and passionate energy, and boy did it taste heavenly. To call that value for money would be a gross understatement!

The positives, the staff were great, the service was very good. The squid starter was very good as was the sticky toffee pudding, but the Roast beef I had and the Roast chicken my wife had were just disappointing. The roast potatoes were dry and hard I suspect they had been sitting around too long. The chicken was also dry and not enough gravy on the plate. They did say it was bottomless veg and gravy but you want it right when served rather than calling the staff for extra. Maybe my hopes were set too high as I had searched for a pub with a good Sunday roast and found the Red Lion was recommended, but after a 40-minute drive to get there, it was just so-so. I could have gone to a pub around the corner and had the same or better. I don't like leaving negative reviews but my hope is the management will read the review and improve the food for future customers. I have changed the review from 3 to 4 stars as the pub and staff were lovely.
