Luke's Lobster Farragut - Washington DC

No warm butter lobster roll after 5 but it was before 5. Grabbed my drink and sat down, 5 mins later they informed me they are out of chowder. They substituted and it was fine.

The food is just mediocre; it used to be much better. The service is also only okay now. However, the restaurant itself is nice and clean.

We happened to be in the area and decided to give Luke's a try. I didn’t realize they had locations outside of Vegas, but there are two spots around the DC area. We chose this particular location because it was convenient to where we were staying. Unfortunately, I found the food to be somewhat disappointing. They offered three flavors of lobster roll, and we both went for the truffle butter lobster roll—one in 4 ounces and the other in 6 ounces. (3 stars) As shown in the picture, the 6-ounce roll had more lobster meat, but sadly, the lobster didn't taste very fresh. The Luke’s Lobster Shack in Vegas served their rolls on warm, lightly crunchy bread that was soft inside and filled with chilled lobster. This location had chilled lobster meat, but the bread just didn’t meet my expectations. It's disappointing to have spent that much and not enjoyed the meal as much as I did at the National Harbor lobster shack or the Vegas location. As for the clam chowder, I would give it 4 stars; it had nice chunks of potatoes and clams with decent flavor and thickness. On a positive note, I have to mention that the staff behind the counter were very friendly.

I ordered a crab roll but they were low on crab meat and so substituted in some lobster (no complaints here! It was delicious. My only regret is not ordering an additional food item, as the roll (4oz is, well, 4 ounces. Of course lobster is pricey so you have to either make the decision to pay up for a fully satisfying meal or not. I went on a Monday around noon and didn’t have to wait in line at all and there was plenty of seating available. Solid choice for lunch.

Up front, I need to mention that the lobster roll I received was below standards for this establishment. HOWEVER, customer support and management were so helpful and quick to respond that I was blown away.They really took care of me, and I'm going to give them another chance.
