801 Restaurant And Bar - Washington DC

I have to admit, I was initially hesitant about this restaurant, but I ended up being pleasantly surprised! I decided to play it safe with the French toast, and it was fantastic! They don’t use the usual Texas toast, which I actually appreciated. I added bacon because I can’t resist it! The establishment has three stories, and they seated us outside, which meant we had to settle for a spot at the bar. Unfortunately, if we wanted an indoor table, we would have had to wait another 30 minutes, and since we didn’t choose to sit outside, it was a bit frustrating—especially with the rain. Overall, though, the experience was good. However, our second bartender was not very friendly at all; it was obvious she wasn’t in the mood to work that day!

Food was very good nice atmosphere drinks were really pricey I thought and could've been somewhat better. Maybe too much bar rescue for me LOL!! Definitely would go back

When I asked for plates, I was denied. I requested more drinks, but they never arrived, although I noticed they were included on the bill. It was frustrating to see the server look at us and then choose to assist the tables around us instead. To add insult to injury, we were charged an automatic 20% tip, which meant Kiah had no incentive to provide good service. I've never felt so blatantly ignored before, and this is the first time I've felt compelled to write a review. We ended up leaving to find food elsewhere. As a local resident of Shaw, I won't be returning and would advise others to steer clear as well. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

Shared a nice bottemless brunch with my friends. 801 was great about reservations and checking in for final counts. The location is ideal on U street as there are many other bars or restaurants to hit after.It was convenient to have access to sparkling wine ourselves for self pouring with multiple flavors to choose from, for pretty cheap too! Servers are attentive with bottomless, bringing over fresh sparkling wine and juices when needed. Other brunchy or regular cocktails are also available.Food was good and inexpensive, with a variety of classic American breakfast dishes; eggs, bacon, sausage waffles etc. as well as burgers and steaks.It is convenient to split the tab as there was a QR code that has the itemized receipts to pay for each person or as a group.801 was also really nice, giving us a complimentary sundae for our joint birthday celebration! Would go again :

I had the Eggs Chesapeake with a side of hash browns. Great service and phenomenal food! Every time I go the food is always great.
