It all started with a rainy evening, we were looking for a place to eat because we were starting to get soaked and our stomachs were starting to growl. My partner points me to this place in the center of Foligno: does it inspire you? and obviously we entered. The environment welcomes us with an explosion of colors: yellow, blue and the wood color of the furniture. Some particular chairs with high backs immediately catch the eye and everything is accompanied by characteristic background music which however does not disturb our chatting. Once seated, they give us a welcome taste made with a Sienese curry sauce and coconut milk. They also bring us bread, which we are keen to specify that it was also homemade. Being a restaurant not only of Arabic cuisine but also fusion, the dishes also take inspiration from other cultures, and being slow food cuisine, prepared on the spot, we would like to point out that the waits for some dishes will be a little long. We ordered: Fried feta meatballs with chilli honey Hawawshi: fried pita bread stuffed with minced meat Tajine kofte beef meatballs with a few eggs Sweet and sour beef tagine (mrouzia) Assortment of pastries Moroccan mint and jasmine tea Personally, the dish I loved the most was the fried feta balls with hot chilli honey, while my partner particularly liked the beef tagine. Even the desserts are made by them, I tried a varied assortment, accompanied by a hot tea which I liked very much and closed the dinner pleasantly. At the end of the meal we managed to have a chat with the cook, whose name is Hadjer, who grew up in Algeria and later in Perugia, with a great passion for cooking. A very energetic and smiling woman, who makes it clear how much she loves her job. Furthermore, only the following day I discovered that Hadjer had participated in Cuochi d 'Italia the world championship hosted by Bruno Barbieri, and I think that her selection was well deserved given the culinary journey she proposed in her menu. Definitely a place I recommend.
