Bidrage med feedbackSuper good fast food. Hot dogs, fries and poutine are all good. Not healthy food but okay once in a while, why not!
Casse-Croûte Normand has became a Verdun Institution and it is commonly called "Normand Patates" by the locals. I've was born in 1965 in Verdun and they've open since 1964 at the same location, corner of Verdun Avenue and 3rd Avenue were I was living. This was my direct neibourhood has a kid. As far as I can remember that's where my parents were bringing us from time to time to get a treat when we were kidz.I pride myself as someone that can spot the real deal, homemade stuff. The sauce IS NOT from a packet, and the fries ARE NOT "frozen hand cut fries". You can actually see the staff cutting the potatoes while you wait if you order at the take out counter. The fries are SO VERY good, the real, right way: blanched and fried. The Hot-Dogs there are also the best in town from my opinion, the bread is just perfectly steamed or tosted and the sausages are just as perfect. In 2006 they've been voted "The Best Poutine in Québec" by the well knowed "Le Monde est Petit" Radio Energie Radio Show. Same owners, same adress and same ultra good recipes since 1964. Everything taste and smell the same as they did back in my chilhood. Now it's my turn to bring my kids to "Normand Patate", therefore once in a while we come from Ville Lorraine on the northshore to get some great HotDogs and Fries. At the same time it's a great oportunity for me to share some of my chilkdhood souvenirs with my kids. Give it a try and you'll understand what I'm talking about. Only downside is their business hours... they close at 9pm.
