O-sabi Japanese Restaurant - Ventura

Super awesome place to eat with a large group of people Right off the freeway and next to ( kingda) to golf and stuff.

Reservations is a must so that you don't have to wait over an hourHowever, we waited 35 min even with a reservationThe food was ok.

If you want to have a great dinner, I would go to BeniHana insteadThe parking was plentiful and it is located next to a freeway.

GETTING HERE: O sabi is located in the old Elephant Bar, down the street from Buena Lanes and Skating Plus. It 's right off the 101 Freeway and Victoria. REVIEW: Great sushi and great service! This was my first time here (really?! and my guest and I were celebrating his birthday. PRO TIP: Make your decision beforehand if you 're eating Teppan or sushi (as the seating is in different parts of the restaurant . We didn 't know that but we do now so thought I 'd share. We ordered 3 rolls (bad yelper! forgot the names! and an appetizer of Shumai (I think? which was excellent and worth the price of admission, haha. The Shumai was better than each of the rolls, IMO. Although the rolls were very fresh and tasted great, there was something about the Shumai that will make me return again to *just order that. Service was nice and not too pushy. The only negative/bad thing IMO was the birthday package . My guest liked the ice cream but only 2 employees came to our table to sing (and they didn 't appear to care about anything and the memory photo was very white washed. Why couldn 't the hostesses come down to sing with the other 2 employees? That was a big let down, to be honest. Other than the birthday flop, it was a good meal. Will return again.

This place is great!! Food is delicious and the cooks entertaining for the entire family. My nieces and nephew had a great time. This is my second time here. Will come back soon!!!
