The Oceanic - Torbay

The restaurant is extremely expensive. We paid £18.50 per person for a cheese salad. We were too surprised to say anything. While I believe in supporting businesses during this time, I feel like they were exploiting our patronage.

We've visited Torquay a few times in recent years and were recommended the Oceanic for Sunday Lunch. Done that 3 times now on our visits with groups of 6-8 each time and the service and food are excellent. Coffee in the lounge is included so that tops off a very relaxing afternoon experience. Twice we've had a Gluten Free requirement for one of the party and the request was handled very professionally indeed. We've also taken advantage of mid week deals for a 4 course meal that was very, very good value and superb food. Look out for their deals and give them a try, we've not been disappointed so far

The restaurant offers a very good value three course menu plus coffee. It is light and airy with sea views. Srevice is very efficient friendly with dietry needs catered for. Dishes are nicely presented and nothing is too much trouble

At a dance break we had a buffet dinner with good choice of tasty hot dishes. A la carte dinner was excellent

The menu was very food. The food was cooked beautifully. My husband is a chief and he said the steak was cooked beautifully
