Jose Pepper's - Topeka

I could spend a lot of time here. It's a really comfortable place. They have inside and outside seating. Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We each ordered a lunch sized taco meal. I got Shrimp Taco with rice and beans. My wife ordered CarneTaco. Both looked wonderful. My shrimp had a sauce on it that was way too salty. But the Carne tasted good. Besides thebeans and rice, we each got a little scoop of Masa. What a nice pallet cleanser. Our server was attentive and very helpful. We will probably return for a margarita and dinner.

The husband and I were looking for somewhere to have a early dinner and after our shopping it is conveniently located across the street from Walmart. We we able to park easy enough, walked in the atmosphere was relaxed and busy, however we were greeted andseated within 5 min of walking in the door, our server named Brandy came up and greeted us, within 3 min of being seated andstarted immediately with amazing conversation and recommendations made us feel right at ease, we ordered and let me tell you,when the food arrived the flavor was beyond amazing, everything was cooked to perfection, perfectly seasoned, especially therice and beans, while we were eating the manager came and checked on us personally and made sure everything was good, as he didwith the other tables as well, when we were done, we were stuffed, extremely happy and we will definitely be returning

It's the little things I ordered stuffed chicken peppers, no special ranch dipping sauce came with it. I asked for hot salsa was given mild. It's the little things that matter. ????

I've been in twice lately. The first time I had the worst service I'd ever had. I had to go ask a host to get us water. The waiter was almost never around. This last time the two of us were in and seated and ordered. Two tables who came in after usgot their food first. We had to wait almost an hour for our food. When it did come the person only brought one of the twoorders and had a lame excuse that he had to carry something else to a different table. The other dinner came out 5 minuteslater. A weak apology was offered by the guy who brought out meals. Our server never said anything. Not sure I will try forthe third strike they may already be out in my book.

We had to wait for a table, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. The plate was too hot to handle. The meal was nicely presented with generous portions and delicious taste. The water was tap water. We sent the espinaca back to the kitchen because it tasted strange and was cold, much like our waiter Mathews' service. He accidentally spilled water on our table and then left us to clean it up. He seemed annoyed, invaded our personal space while taking our order. Thankfully, Emily was there to give us our bill so we could pay and leave after being kept waiting for water. The food was good, but the service was bad. We will not be returning in the future.
