My husband’s family has lived in Toledo their entire lives, and he has fond memories of this restaurant having the best baba ganoush. We are visiting from Cincinnati for a small gathering in Toledo, and we decided to have dinner at Beirut. Let me tell you, it was incredible! Some of the waitresses have been working there for 30 to 40 years, which speaks volumes about the place. There’s a beautiful story of immigrants coming to the U.S. and building a life for themselves, becoming outstanding members of the community. There are three brothers and their child, and they are still working there! The ambiance is a bit dark, but the decor has remained unchanged. The restaurant is spacious, and it really gets busy on Saturday evenings!
Always a great time here! Food is amazing, staff just as amazing!
The raw kibbeh was fantastic! We had a party of six, and those who ordered the cooked beef kibbeh found it a bit overcooked. The hummus was delicious, and the fresh salad was great too!
We stopped in for lunch on our way back to Ann Arbor. It seems like many Middle Eastern restaurants in Ann Arbor are in a rush to serve their customers, but The Beirut takes its time to prepare kabobs that are infused with the rich flavors of the Middle East. In short, we thoroughly enjoyed our beef kabobs, cooked to medium-rare perfection, and the chicken kabobs, which were nicely charred yet packed with flavor. They were served alongside delicious French fries and spiced yellow rice! We weren't able to sit in the dining area, but instead found ourselves in a more casual space where lunch is served. I'm definitely willing to make the 45-minute drive from Ann Arbor to come back and meet friends.
