Bidrage med feedbackI had an excellent toasted sandwich here—possibly the best I’ve ever had. The fillings were abundant. I requested a bit more ham and, since I was willing to pay extra, they gladly added it for just an additional $1.00. The sandwich was loaded with cheese and onion, cooked to perfection, and paired with fantastic coffee. This restaurant is a must-visit on your travels. My wife ordered a ham, cheese, and pineapple sandwich, and she claimed it was the best one she's had. The selection of foods in their display case was also very tempting. While we were there, a busload of tourists showed up, which suggests it's a popular stop for those on tours.
Classic food just like it used to be. The chocolate eclair was delicious! The Eggs Benedict were excellent. Great prices and fantastic service!
I stopped by this place for some meat pies during a lunch break on our bus tour to Wellington. The pies were incredible and took me back to my childhood in Orewa, where meat pies were a staple of daily life (definitely not something you find in Canada). I tried two different kinds, along with a Kiwi Whopper (a sausage roll filled with mashed potatoes), and I couldn’t resist eating them right away—they didn’t even make it back to the bus!
Classic old school tea rooms.. Range of cabinet food from sandwiches to bakery items like cream donuts etc. Pies and other hot food on offer. Prices are value for money! Nothing fancy but bacon and eggs for $13 with two slices of toast and chips! Feed two for $30 (2x cooked breakfasts Bacon eggs and the sausage meal which includes a can drink 1L just juice to share . If you're on a budget and need a feed in Taihape, thoroughly recommend.
Had a quick bite here on the way to Timaru. Wide range of cabinet food. Just like an old school cafeteria. Clean and tidy. Best Value for money. Lovely staff.
