Basilio Inn - Staten Island

I struggled for a long time about whether to give this restaurant a 5-star rating, mainly because I don't want to draw attention to the incredible food. We really don't need more people discovering it! Food: 5/5

Save your money and head to Olive Garden instead. We ordered four dishes, starting with the Seafood Melody appetizer, which was quite disappointing. Two of our main courses were risottos, and the cheese wasn't fully melted. I tried the chicken marsala, but the sauce was watery and had an unpleasant taste. The chicken was tough and seemed to have been flattened with a mallet. On the bright side, our waitress was friendly and attentive. We were the only customers in the restaurant when we arrived around 4 PM, and there were three staff members, including our waitress, who spent time gossiping and complaining about another waiter, who apparently is related to the owner or manager. It felt as though they were watching us when they weren't talking. I truly don't understand how this place has received so many positive reviews. Save your money and choose another restaurant.

We had a fantastic experience here, recommended by my nephew to celebrate his father's birthday, so we drove all the way from the Jersey Shore—and it was definitely worth the trip! The food, wine, and service were all excellent. There were six of us, and everyone had a great time. One thing to keep in mind: if you're not familiar with the area, the restaurant is tucked away down a side street. Our group used Google Maps on Android to find it, but some members who used Apple Maps were led to a different location in the neighborhood and had to meet up with us to follow Google Maps.

My husband and I love this restaurant! It is a hidden gem that more people should enjoy ! Their mussel appetizer is to die for, a must have! The staff is so nice, and the owner always remembers us and makes us feel welcome! Can’t wait to go againFood: 5/5

The setting was elegant and charming, with white tablecloths and classic Italian decor that set the perfect ambiance for a special night out. The staff was attentive and friendly, providing top-notch service and making us feel like we were part of the family.
