Wortelgat Fine Dining Springfontein Wine Estate

More than 5 stars! This restaurant offers stunning mountain views and a fantastic atmosphere. They have charming cottages, a pool, a pond, a lawn, and a beautiful garden. The food was exceptional; you could really sense the care and passion that went into its preparation. My steak was cooked to perfection, and I was even asked how big I wanted it cut. It was such a lovely experience!

The staff are friendly and well-informed about the local grape varieties and the vineyard. The atmosphere is laid-back, nestled under the trees, allowing you to enjoy the stunning mountain views.

I had an incredible experience staying at the Fisherman's Cottage at the stunning Springfontein Estate. It was a dream come true for me, as I was fortunate enough to spend a day working alongside the cellar team. I learned about the various vinification techniques they employ and discovered more about the unique Chenel grape. A heartfelt thank you to Johst, Jeanne, Tania, Marisca, and the lovely woman in the Barn who kindly filled my water bottle with chilled water without me even having to ask. If you're looking for a fantastic place to stay, enjoy delicious food (they also offer a fine dining experience for three months of the year), and savor their exquisite wines, I highly recommend visiting their website to book your stay. You won't regret it!

Michelin star chef, Jürgen Schneider; found off a dirt road, on a wine farm, in Stanford. Absolutely magnificent eating experience. Warm, hospitable service from people who obviously love what they do. We will be back.

Incredible. We had the three course set menu and were absolutely delighted. The service is attentive and thoughtful. The food is exceptional, beautifully presented and delicious. Lots of interesting flavours so even though the dishes might look rather plain on the menu, they are certainly not when they reach you at the table. There are many little treats hidden throughout the set menu, as well, which this photo does not do justice to! I recommend this restaurant highly.
