Tropical Smoothie Cafe - St. Petersburg

The smoothie was fantastic and the atmosphere was top-notch.

The restaurant is now open and has a welcoming atmosphere for business meetings. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of options they offer, including wraps and salads.

Today, the restaurant was closed and it appears that they are never open.

Sherri is addicted to this restaurant, but I guess it could be worse.

The staff at this location is very helpful and friendly. However, I was disappointed to discover that Tropical Smoothie Cafe adds sugar to almost every smoothie (except for the green detox), a fact that is not clearly disclosed on their menu board. You have to read the small print at the bottom of the menu to find out about the added sugar, which I found to be misleading. Additionally, it is questionable why a fruit smoothie would need added sugar in the first place. If Tropical Smoothie Cafe does not want to be known as a healthy smoothie cafe, they should be transparent about the added sugar and not market themselves as such. Furthermore, the peanut butter used in their smoothies contains hydrogenated oils, salt, and sugar, which may also be a concern for health-conscious customers.
