Bidrage med feedbackOn the evening of the event, the hostess, MAB, sent a text informing me that my niece could drop my sister off at the designated drive in the back of the Lodge but would then need to move her car. I relayed this information to my niece, who asked us to meet her there to assist with my sister. We went to the back and soon after, the caterer's truck arrived, followed shortly by my niece and sister. As we got my sister out of the car, a woman from the catering truck yelled at us that she couldn't park there. I explained that we were helping my sister, who is in a wheelchair, and that my niece would be moving her car. The woman insisted that it was employee parking, and at some point, she identified herself as the manager. After we helped my sister inside and moved the car, my son-in-law arrived with my two grandsons, ages 2 and 4. He called to ask me to meet him out front to get the boys, as he needed to park in the Olando lot next door. I dashed outside to meet him, but as soon as I did, a shuttle bus pulled up and the driver yelled that he couldn’t park there. We informed her he was just dropping off the boys and would move his car afterwards, but it didn’t seem to matter. Later in the evening, my sister needed to use the restroom. We navigated through the tables, opened the restroom door, and found there was no accessible stall. My niece and I managed to pull my sister's wheelchair in, had her hold onto the wall for support, and then pulled the wheelchair back out to close the stall door. Around 9 PM, my sister, grandsons, and others were ready to head home. My husband and son-in-law got my sister to the side of the Lodge while my niece went to fetch the car. Once everyone regrouped, they were once again confronted and told they could not park there.
This place is absolutely charming! It's a bed and breakfast that also features nine rooms available for parties. Located just 15 minutes from downtown St. Louis, it’s a cozy little gem.
The ambiance was unique, with stone fireplaces, walls adorned with antlers, and a bearskin in the common areas, making it feel like a true hunting lodge. Plus, the location was super convenient, just off I-55. Every room was impeccably clean and had its own distinct theme. We stayed in the Mississippi room, which had a lovely balcony overlooking the back yard. The top floor rooms are the most luxurious. The service was excellent, and I've attached some pictures showcasing various parts of the house and the beautiful grounds.
Went there for a family members party who turned 60. My aunt has terminal cancer and is in a wheel chair. We asked if we can use the loading dock to get her in her car they told us yes. Then as we are trying to load her in her car a manager yelled at us being very rude saying you can't do that here she needs to take the elevator. We told her that we were told we can and she said no we can not I kindly told her we are almost done she got nasty again. Very rude manager
The room was quaint and clean. The decorations in the room were tasteful and appropriate. We stayed in the Mississippi room. It was very quiet and peaceful. There's a Great Rivers Greenway trail right behind the lodge and Vicki is really what makes the experience. She is so kind and thoughtful and pleasant. The breakfast was good and plentiful. They make the bacon crispy, just like my husband likes it. It's an easy drive to and from the city without having to stay in the city. Go out for coffee if you are a coffee connoisseur, but everything else was great!
