Bidrage med feedbackI can't believe how much the quality of the food has declined since my last visit. The macaroni was absolutely awful. The cook on August 8, 2022, should be embarrassed. The macaroni was overcooked and tasted like processed cheese, lacking any other flavor. The chicken was dry and underseasoned, while the brisket was fatty and bland. On the bright side, the beans were enjoyable, and surprisingly, I liked the potato salad, which is uncommon for me. The ribs were decent but needed more seasoning, and the coleslaw was quite disappointing. We did appreciate the sauce, but I can't stress enough how unappetizing the macaroni was; I've never encountered macaroni that looked and tasted so bad. After this experience, I'm unsure if I'll return. It's disheartening, especially since my last visit was good. I feel like I just squandered nearly $50.
This is a "must-visit" spot located north of Spring Lake, North Carolina, near Fort Bragg and Pope Army Airfield. It's conveniently located right off Highway 210, under the green water tower. The restaurant has a Texas-style barbecue vibe, featuring hand-cut butcher meat. Their pulled pork is one of the specialties, but I want to emphasize that this is not traditional North Carolina BBQ. However, as a native North Carolinian, I still found it enjoyable. They tend to sell out of burnt ends early, which is why I ended up trying the pulled pork. They served me a generous portion—enough for three meals!
A local BBQ restaurant owner actually recommended that we try this place, which speaks volumes. The owner and staff are fantastic, providing the warm and friendly service you’d expect from a small-town Southern eatery. They offer a wide selection of meats, and we decided to sample the pulled pork and the burnt ends. The pulled pork isn't your typical Eastern NC style; it comes with a thick, sweet sauce. Without the sauce, it was a bit on the dry side, but that might have been because we arrived just before closing time. However, the burnt ends were some of the best I’ve ever had in the state. For our sides, we chose red slaw and new potatoes, both of which were excellent. Overall, I highly recommend visiting this place whenever you're in the area. I can’t wait to come back and try more of their meats and sides!
What a fantastic hidden gem! Don’t miss out on this place; the food is absolutely delicious. You’ll find great dishes at excellent prices. They offer takeout and dine-in options, although seating is limited. There are plenty of available sauces, and the combination plates are a great choice. Plus, the staff is very friendly!
I visited this restaurant for the first time and tried the ribs along with the tres leches cake. On my second trip, I had the pulled pork, and during my last visit, I ordered the bratwurst, which was massive. They did forget my order once, but I wasn't in a hurry, so it hardly bothered me. The staff is friendly, and the service is usually quite fast. I would definitely recommend this place. I've been going on and off since I moved here, and I still highly recommend it!
