Maria's Mexican Grill - Spring Grove

It makes me really sad to write this review! Maria's has been one of our favorite restaurants since we moved to Spring Grove. However, since the change in ownership, the quality of the food has significantly declined and the prices have increased quite a bit. The food is now very greasy, and the quality of the meat has also changed. Our last two orders were incorrect, and today we ordered queso fundido as an appetizer through Uber Eats but didn’t receive any tortillas with it. In the past, we used to get guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, and tomato with any entrée, but now it comes plain. With the rising prices and the decline in quality, we're unfortunately not going to be coming back very often.

The atmosphere and service were quite nice, but unfortunately, the food didn’t meet expectations. The rice and beans were bland and lacked the vibrant flavors typically found in other Mexican restaurants. The steak burrito was uninspired and left a terrible aftertaste. It seemed like the steak was not cooked properly, more boiled or microwaved than grilled. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for authentic Mexican cuisine. Service: Dine-in.

Delicious food and a charming family-owned restaurant. We tried the enchiladas, tampequena, and chimichanga, and each dish was fresh and tasted fantastic. The service was excellent, and the staff were very welcoming.

The food here is not only fresh and delicious but is also served quickly. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. The peach margaritas are fantastic, and the fried ice cream is among the best I've ever tasted. I highly recommend the steak fajitas; the steak is well-seasoned and tender, and you get a generous portion. I've also tried the sour cream enchiladas, and they were fabulous as well!
