Bidrage med feedbackThe sliced brisket at this restaurant comes in marble or lean, but I opted for the moist marbled option. The beans were decent, with a peppery kick. The potato salad had more mayo than mustard, which was disappointing for me as I prefer mustard. I ordered 1/4 meat with beans, while my husband got sliced beef brisket on hamburger buns. The portion size was good. We also tried the cherry cobbler, which was a nice change from the usual peach cobbler you find everywhere else. The cobbler was really delicious! You have to ask for pickles, onions, and bread. The atmosphere inside was loud, but there was plenty of seating outside with picnic tables all around. Our meal, including two drinks (they don't have named sodas), came to $33. The barbecue was really tasty! Make sure to check their Facebook or Instagram daily, as they post when they sell out. They open at 11:00 and close at 6:00, or when they run out of food, which seems to happen frequently.
The delicious brisket was the highlight of the meal, but everything else was disappointing. The mac n cheese was mediocre and the pork ribs were mostly bone, saved only by the tasty BBQ sauce.
The restaurant is pricey and always packed, but the service is top-notch and the food comes in a close second. If you manage to find parking and arrive early enough to avoid them running out of dishes, you're in for a delicious meal. I suggest ordering online and enjoying your food at home.
Embarking on a culinary adventure, this BBQ joint in Houston beckons with an irresistible charm, but timing is your ally—early birds are in for a treat. Saturdays steal the show with the pièce de résistance: beef ribs that redefine barbecue excellence. The carnivorous journey continues with the sausage, respectable in its own right, though not stealing the spotlight. Enter the brisket, a culinary masterpiece that commands attention with its smoky allure and melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. While the pork may not be the star, it finds itself overshadowed by the gastronomic triumphs of the beef selections. Amidst this flavorful expedition, the coleslaw emerges as an unexpected hero, providing a refreshing contrast to the hearty meats. For those basking in the summer sun, the backyard unfolds as a hidden gem, adding a touch of al fresco delight to the dining experience. Post-feast, the adventure extends beyond the table – a leisurely stroll around the neighborhood reveals a treasure trove of souvenirs, creating an experience that transcends mere dining. The friendly staff, more than efficient, adds a warmth that resonates with the Southern hospitality. Houston locals, consider this not just a meal but a pilgrimage. The journey is a rite of passage, earning its well-deserved spot in my top 5 BBQ establishments in Texas. A symphony of flavors, a dash of local exploration, and genuine warmth from the staff make this BBQ haven a quintessential Texan experience. This is the best barbecue I've ever had! From the excellent service to the amazing taste and generous portion sizes, we ordered a lot of food to share between 5 people. The brisket, turkey, sausage, Mac n cheese, Cole slaw, and potato salad were all absolutely delicious. The meats were so tender and the sides tasted homemade, which really made a difference. I enjoyed every aspect of this place and I can't wait to return next time I visit Houston!
