St. Moritz Grill - Sparta

Great atmosphere .food is a little slow to come out. We stopped here because we saw the Octoberfest signs. The German food they boast was terrible. Potato pancakes were hasbrowns equivalent to any diner in NJ except its half the portion and twice the cost. The sauerbraten was nothing that resembled sauerbraten ,the Spatzle was tiny pieces of over cooked dough. I will go back and try again based on reviews plus the place has a nice outdoor seating area. I think my problem was the horrible attempt at German food. Don't advertise food you can't cook properly.

I met up with colleagues after work for drinks and appetizers. The waitress was exceptionally friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. Since we only ordered appetizers, I can’t provide extensive feedback on the food, but the chicken nachos and spinach dip were delicious. The Garden Spritzer was also fantastic. The only downside might be parking, as I didn't notice a designated lot. Overall, we dined in and had a great time!

However, the service could use some improvement; it was quite slow, likely due to how busy the restaurant was. It might be helpful to have water pitchers at each table to minimize the server's trips. The waiter also seemed to struggle with keeping track of our orders and had to come back multiple times, which slowed things down. Additionally, my mother’s water glass had an old lipstick mark, which is always unsettling and unfortunately common in many establishments. The waiter handled the situation professionally by replacing it, but it does lower my trust in the restaurant, especially considering the high prices. Overall, while my experience was just a mid-level 3 stars, my family loved their meals, so I'm giving it a complimentary 4 stars for their enjoyment.
