Maverik Adventure's First Stop

The soda fountains are often out of order, and the selection of deli food is quite limited. I’ve seen the manager outside smoking with a few employees while the lines inside keep getting longer. It's not uncommon to stand in line, waiting at a single cash register, while the manager and a couple of staff members are chatting and overlooking the frustrated customers. This place is meant to be a convenience store, but it definitely doesn't feel that way anymore.

I ordered two small cups of ice water, and after tax, they cost me $1.06, as they were charged as extra-large cups. The staff member working inside the store was also quite rude. I understand that COVID-19 is still a consideration for many places, but charging that much for small cups of water—which are typically only around 30 cents elsewhere—is unacceptable. I will not be returning to this Maverik.

It seems that this is one of the best places to gather in Soda. It's not only a wonderful spot to unwind, but also a great place to chat with the locals. The people here are incredibly friendly!

I invite anyone with concerns to speak directly with management, as I am committed to addressing them personally. Monica did not communicate any issues to us, and I believe that misunderstandings often result in complaints. Let’s collaborate to improve education and communication.

Usually, I find this store quite frustrating, but today I was really impressed by one of the employees, Kennedy Smith. He is a very kind young man, and despite another employee not showing up, Kennedy managed everything without a hitch. He did an excellent job running the store on Christmas Day, a time when I’m sure he would have rather been with his family. I was truly moved by his dedication, and I hope he gets the recognition he deserves. He definitely deserves a raise.
