The food was delightful, earning a solid 4 out of 5; I especially enjoyed the Chips and Salsa and the Quesadilla, which were both flavorful and fresh. The atmosphere was inviting and pleasant, making it a great spot to relax during the midday rush. However, the service could use some improvement, as it was a bit slow at times, which I rated as a 3 out of 5. Overall, it’s a worthwhile place to visit if you’re in the mood for some tasty Mexican fare!

I enjoyed a late lunch at Las Canteras, where I ordered the steak burrito and my partner tried the tres amigos special. We both had a large michelada, which is a traditional drink made with beer, hot sauce, lime, and a salted rim. I recommend asking for the hot sauce, as it's much better than the mild ranchera red that comes to the table. The restaurant is located in an old bank building, which adds a unique charm, and it's very colorful inside, featuring festive painted tables and chairs. In a world filled with chain restaurants, Las Canteras stands out as an excellent choice for authentic Mexican food while traveling on US 36. As for parking, we were able to park right in front.
