Bidrage med feedbackI attended a wedding at this restaurant and was impressed by the beautiful venue and the helpful staff. The food was delicious, although as a gluten-free diner, my options were a bit different. The beef dinner was tasty, but the gluten-free dessert, which I believe was also vegan, was unfortunately not to my liking. The seeded bread roll served with my meal was not enjoyable, and I noticed a potential risk of cross-contamination with crumbs from others' bread. The canapés served after the ceremony were also lacking in quantity, with only three gluten-free options on a small slate tile. Despite these shortcomings, the wedding was lovely and everyone had a great time. The non-gluten-free options were well-enjoyed by all, and although my experience was a bit disappointing in terms of gluten-free choices, it was still satisfactory.
We attended a wedding at the castle where we had a three-course meal. The food was tasty and the service was very friendly. They did a great job accommodating all dietary restrictions.
We were lucky enough to be guests at a friends wedding at Rowton Castle. It is one of the very best wedding venues I have been at. The location is extremely picturesque with many excellent photo opportunities. Inside it seems smaller than you might expect but has a nice intimate atmosphere. The staff and service were very good. I was particularly impressed with the food. A large meal for a Wedding party with everyone served different meals but all at the same time must be one of the most challenging tasks in catering, but the meal was really excellent and the service very slick and well organised with no excessive waiting. The staff were efficient and attentive and knew before they arrived at the table who everyone was and what they were having. The wine was good, too, and from what the Wedding couple told me it was very reasonably priced. Breakfast next day was very nicely cooked and again service was excellent. It is difficult to find any downsides to mention, perhaps the only thing was the sound insulation in the bedrooms. I believe the hotel part of the building was added during WW2 and, whilst it looks and feels in keeping with the rest of the venue, the walls must be a bit thin! Not much the management can do about that but if you are staying overnight try and pick a room next to someone who doesn't suffer from sleep apnea! ;
I stayed at Rowton Castle for one night, after passing by it many times on the way to Wales. The venue was absolutely beautiful and did not disappoint. We stayed in the Yockleton Superior 4 poster room, which was lovely. The reception staff were welcoming, the bar staff were great, and we had an amazing dinner. Our waiter, Josh, was a young man with excellent manners and was a credit to the company. We enjoyed a full English breakfast served by Josh before exploring Shrewsbury and having lunch before heading home. Rowton Castle has always been on my list of places to stay, and we will definitely be returning with friends for a longer stay. My only complaint is that they do not allow dogs, but I understand why.
Have visited Rowton Castle a few times it has always been excellent. The food and service always 5* We came for our sons wedding this month. What a magical day from beginning to end. Such a glorious setting the gardens so beautiful. The wedding was inside as it looked like rain however it did not rain so we spent many hours outside in the wonderful setting. Everything was perfect the staff work hard to make sure that the day is perfect the ceremony the food and service were perfect. Thank you all so much for making this a truly memorable day. We will be back when you can squeeze us in between weddings.
