Bidrage med feedbackRichard has a great choice for such a small place. I lived in schenectady for at least 10 years and that was my favorite place for a bite, coffee and good entertainment. can not recommend enough! not fancy, nothing scattered, just a simple atmosphere with quality
Very friendly man who cooks for them before location. it has a great homemade feeling.
Very small filiale before place with 1 older owners hired. good eating, but felt uncomfortable that we were just customers. bar only street parking with pay meter. many stories about loading stacked.
Extremely enthusiastic about my experience in the moon and river cafe. that is not their traditional restaurant, so please do not come with this expectation. the food is frizzy, very slow, and they only accept cash. it's a step back in time in a lot of sight, but especially in the lack of pressure, fast eating, paying and out. I would certainly, but I know that's not the cup of tea. the decor is a little (read: a lot) unique. it feels like a living room, looks like a living room, and probably was a real living room at a time. that is because the owner can do everything he wants with the place, and if he were books that wall the walls, and pictures and signs of years on the wall, he can do that! the owner whose name I unfortunately forgot imagined at the end of the meal. I have so randomly stumbled on an evening with live music so that I enjoyed singing along 80's hits, beside my vegan enchilada (with a wonderful salsa verde,) served with a piece melone, and a cranberry orange brot dessert. was very satisfied with eating and with the music, although I only knew one song. I have nothing to complain about. I see many other reviews that moon and river for bad service, decoration, eating whatever. this is a unique restaurant where you will be guaranteed to walk away each time with a unique experience. Take that for what you want. the best to the owners to expand the community around this place!
Amazing selection of Vegan and vegetarian food. The man who owns the café was incredibly nice and before I even sat down, asked if I was vegan or vegetarian. He gave me a lot of great recommendations and was very accommodating. Very friendly environment, great food, and must hit spot for any vegan/vegetarian living in or visiting the capital region. Also be sure to check out their new place, Arthur's Market.
