Bidrage med feedbackWe have eaten here a number of times in the past when visiting Saumur and really enjoyed this visit. The pizzas were thin and crispy and loaded with fresh ingredients. On a lovely warm evening dining outside was a delight. The pizzas are served hot and stayed hot on the slate plates which made them even more delicious. No frills service but attentive and a nice atmosphere.
Ended up here for dinner as not much choice on the island, the pizzas were fine with thin crusts, the house wines were ok even allowing for the refrigerated rouge
We had one night in Saumur, but the restaurant we had planned to go to was closed, weather was not good so we didn't want to venture too far so decided to go for a crepe? We went in, were given a table restricted by a radiator and a pillar right next to the toilet, got a menu, waited 20 minutes, the chap just ignored us so we got up and left! Cant rate the food or the value because we didn't have any but the dreadful service means I could nor recommend it at all.
This looks the part of either a creperie or a pizzeria. I choser the Breton route and had a galette followed by a crepe and drank cidre. It was acceptable but not brilliant. Would I hae been better with a piza? Certainly it appears that a substantial part of the business was in selling them for take away or deliery and glancing oer to a neighbouring diner his looked pretty good.
We dined here twice, once inside and once on the terrace. The food is excellent, nice thin and crispy pizzas just the way we like them with fresh toppings which were very tasty. The wine is sensibly priced but the service was very, very slow. I know that the French like to take their time over eating but a 20 minute wait to order and then along delay before the food came was not acceptable.
