Crispy's Donuts - San Marcos

They were out of cream puffs, so they made us special cream puffs using puff pastry. Delicious!!!

We were in search of pink frosted doughnuts to celebrate breakfast after my daughter returned home from the hospital. The staff was incredibly friendly; they made a dozen doughnuts just for us and even treated my older kids while we waited.

I really enjoy this donut shop because they offer fresh donuts with a crispy exterior, especially their cake donuts. They also make an amazing apple fritter. Be prepared for long lines on weekday mornings, but they do a great job of maintaining social distance and are very friendly. Occasionally, they run out of donuts by 10 AM on weekends, which is why I’m not giving it 5 stars.

I just discovered Crispy's during the pandemic about 2 months ago. What a treat! The staff is always friendly, and the quality of the oil they use seems to be more fresh than other donut shops. At least they may not recycle the oil they use for frying as much as other donut shops? Either way the freshness in each bite really is apparent! The main reason I'm commenting here is the CRONUT! What a creation! it's ruined me! It's all I want to eat now when it comes to donuts! Layered crispy flakiness with a light glaze! Mon DIEU, I'm in Love!!

Great donut shop! I am a former owner/baker of donut shops so I can tell when a shop is putting out a great product and this one is! They're using good quality mixes, they've got a baker who knows how to properly fry donuts, and importantly, they are cleaning and filtering their oil regularly. Baking donuts is a lot harder than most people think, so show these guys some love and appreciation! Better than average covid protective procedures and friendly, helpful staff. Go!
