Brewery Twenty Five Taproom

We had a great time visiting Brewery 25. Fran and Sean led us through a tasting of 6 of their beers, very educational and entertaining. I particularly liked their Kolsch and stout. Picked up a couple of crowlers to go. They don't serve any food, but there are several good restaurants near by.

Granted we went during COVID times and couldn't truly enjoy this brewery to it's extent. The patio tables are closed outside, it's takeout beer only. Since it's been a few years visiting San Juan Bautista, we went all out shopping at local businesses. Twenty Five was one of our discoveries. Staff were super kind and willing to take their time with us, answering all our questions. We walked away with 2 crowlers; kolsh and coffee porter We did drink both cans that week, each were a solid and tasty beer. My favorite was the coffee porter because it had so much flavor to it. I was told they partnered with the local coffee shop, vertigo, to use their coffee with this beer.

I absolutely love this place! The beer is consistently excellent, and the staff is always friendly. The owners are fantastic—they're always lending a hand and supporting other wonderful small businesses in the area.

This is a great spot to unwind and enjoy a pint after visiting the mission. The bartender was incredibly friendly, and the selection of beers was excellent. My personal favorite was the Two Night Stay IPA. You can even take your favorite brew home in a tall can— I did! They offer cozy indoor seating with air conditioning, as well as an outdoor patio. Plus, dogs are warmly welcomed here!

Although their beer is excellent, this review is specifically about the taproom itself. I’m giving it three stars because they are only open for four hours a week. For those who claim it’s a great spot to relax after visiting the mission or that it’s a hidden gem, it’s important to note that it’s rarely open. You can find their beer at other locations around town, but don’t count on visiting the taproom for a drink unless you're lucky enough to be there during that four-hour window each week.
