John The Greek - San Antonio

What a wonderful find! I've been a fan of Greek cuisine for a while and had been wanting to try this restaurant for a couple of months. Today was finally the day, and I only regretted not coming in sooner. The food was fresh and had the delicious taste of being made from scratch. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was both quick and friendly.

Finally, I’ve found a place that truly understands how to make a salad that not only tastes incredible but also leaves you feeling satisfied! The gyro salad was fantastic—the olives were flavorful, and the gyro had a delightful crispy edge. Although I’m trying to eat healthier with my salad, I couldn’t resist trying the baklava, and it was outstanding. The staff was also very nice and friendly. I’m so happy to discover such a wonderful local Greek restaurant!

While tzatziki isn’t my all-time favorite, I’ve noticed it varies greatly from one restaurant to another, making it fun to try them all. It paired nicely with the flavorful gyro and pita, so this isn't a criticism of the tzatziki. We tried nearly every dessert on the menu, and they were all delicious, but the highlight was definitely the loukoumades. They looked like large doughnut holes drenched in sweet syrup and dusted with cinnamon and sugar—truly to die for! Even if you’re too full from all the Greek food, you should definitely get some to go; you won’t regret it. The restaurant is easily accessible, with plenty of parking right out front, and we especially loved the spacious, beautiful outdoor patio.

Absolutely worth a visit! The menu offers an amazing variety, and the staff is wonderful. I'll definitely be back in a few weeks.
