Bidrage med feedbackThis is the sort of restaurant that you like on vacation because of its local vibe. Everybody wants lunch on Martinique and by calling in twenty minutes before opening time (midday) we were able to reserve a table. Certainly the restaurant was sold out by 12.05. The situation wins it. On the edge of the sea, and if you can blagg a seafront table you would never care about the food. It's the Caribbean. There is plenty of choice on the menu and the service is efficient. So efficient the head waiter (she's definitely in charge) is going to make sure you get the meal she believes you need, in my case double rice. But my french is very poor. The food is fine and my portion of fish was perfectly cooked and generous. But my half bottle of sancerre generously aged from 2017 in a caribbean climate was starting to tire. It's my fault. I should have ordered a carafe of fresh stuff for a quarter of the price but I took a chance. In any case the sancerre was still good for drinking and I enjoyed it. Great for a holiday lunch
Went for Sunday Lunch and food reasonably priced. A numbers of locals come here and this gives an indication that the food is good.
We stumbled at this restaurant by accident when we went around the historical site of St. Pierre. We have had good breakfast but when we saw the restaurant was bussy, we knew that this is a good one and we like to try their food. We sat at the corner nearby the edge, thus we could see the entire room of the restaurant and as well enjoy the activities from the yachts which harboured on the sea. Beautifull view. My meal and from my husband was delicious. The owner came special to greet us and the service is fast. I recommend people who visit St. Pierre in Martinique to stop by La Vague, at least to try their various drink.
If you are looking for a cozy restaurant with some good local food to reasonable prices, do not go there! This place has seriously crappy, tasteless food to horrendous prices. The service is not better either, the owners seem tired of what they are doing, which reflects in a very bad attitude and terrible service. Rarely you will find more arrogant and unfriendly service at a restaurant. Place to avoid!
I am sorry to say that this was probably the most disappointing place we ate at in all of Martinique. The food was served very quickly by Caribbean standards, and very economical as well, and very bland. Maybe this is the way creole food is supposed to be. The service was rather gruff, for example our server put the bottles of rum and sugar water on our table and told us to pour it ourselves. There were not many places open to eat in downtown St. Pierre the night we ate at the Vague. If I had to do it again I would get some things at the grocery store and eat on the balcony of my room.
