Adriana's On The Hill - Saint Louis

What a delight it is to step into Adriana's when there's no line! (This is a rare occurrence, usually right after opening or just after the lunch crowd, around 2 PM, when the place is winding down.) I prefer to call in my order, but I still have to wait in line to pay. Part of the dining experience is soaking in the ambiance of the checkered tablecloths and the rich history surrounding you. If you're a fan of soup, be sure to ASK! The minestrone is absolutely fantastic. I believe the soup selection changes as frequently as St. Louis weather, so you never know what you'll find. The last one I had was a chickpea soup, and it was just as amazing as all the others. Everything tastes like it was made by your mom (if she were Italian and an incredible cook). If you haven’t been here yet, I urge you to go! They offer vegetarian options and other items beyond sandwiches, but you really must try the sandwiches. My favorite is the Gorgonzola dip served au jus. If I'm in the mood for something lighter, Sunny's Veggie is a great choice. The bread, fresh from The Hill, is superb. When served warm with butter and garlic, the sesame seeds on the bread create a heavenly experience that lasts just a moment.

AMAZING SANDWICHES!!!!! This was my first visit, and although I don't frequent the hill very often, that's definitely going to change! The food is absolutely worth the drive from Florissant. It truly is unparalleled!

Our lunch was well worth the wait in line and after we ordered. The restaurant was full, tells me it must be pretty good. The food was amazing and I wish I was in town longer to try more options.
