The Gate House - Rochester

Vegan is the future! I used to frequent Village Gate about ten years ago, but I never bothered with the Gatehouse because they never had any options for me. However, last night's dinner was a pleasant surprise! I had heard great things about their new menu and I'm glad I finally tried it out. I ordered the Gate Plate, shared a Maplewood salad, and tried the cauliflower steak - all of which were excellent! The chocolate hazelnut dessert was also amazing. Well done Gatehouse, welcome to the 21st century!

A group of friends and I decided to try out this restaurant and we were pleased with the food and drinks. I decided to try the avocado burger, which was not what I was expecting but still very tasty. I believe it is gluten-free, which is a nice touch for those with dietary restrictions. I made the mistake of ordering sweet potato fries as my side, not realizing they came with honey. My partner ended up enjoying them instead. I am excited to come back and try more items on the menu in the future. (Originally reviewed on January 12, 2024)

The vegan burger and pizza at this restaurant are both decent, but not outstanding. They are consistently good, but not worth going out of your way for. The fries are also tasty.

They have great pizza with an awesome GF crustdidn’t get any photos of it since I always eat the pizza so fast but here is a beautiful salad from there that was super refreshing. #Veganuary

I loved Gate House! It's such an improvement over even just one year ago. They have a separate vegan menu with a ton of clearly-labelled options. I'll be back!
