We always enjoy visiting farm stalls during our road trips. Die Rooi Aalwyn offers a selection of traditional comfort food. My husband tried the tamatie bredie but found it a bit lacking. I ordered the Vetkoek en botter, and my niece went for the Vetkoek en mince. The Vetkoek was the standout—deliciously fresh, with a wonderfully spongy texture and no greasiness at all. We even bought one to take away, and it was so good that we simply reheated it in a frying pan on low heat.
