Seating is self-service, but if you’re dining with a larger group, it’s wise to call ahead since most tables accommodate 4-6 people. The atmosphere here is laid-back, with many customers waiting for their to-go orders. Once you’ve placed your order with the waitress, I highly recommend trying their traditional hot milk tea, which is caffeine-free. It boasts a unique savory and slightly salty flavor that I've grown to love, though sugar packets are available for those who prefer a sweeter taste. We often order their lamb dumplings because they are hard to find elsewhere. They lack a gamey scent, making them a hit with the kids, whether they choose the smaller bansh or the larger momo sizes. We haven't tried it yet, but they also have a freezer stocked with dumplings that patrons have purchased. Another favorite among our kids is the beef khuushuur—deep-fried meat pockets that arrive piping hot! Be cautious when they first come to the table; it’s best to cut them in half to let the steam escape or use a fork or chopsticks to handle them. On a cool or windy day, we love to order their huitsaa soup, which features beef meatballs and vegetables in a savory broth. The dumplings in the beef soup are also a tasty choice. For a more Russian-inspired experience, their gulyash and borsh soups are excellent options. My spouse and I tend to lean towards spicier dishes, so we usually opt for the spicy pork entrée. We've also found other dishes that our friends request, like the shapta, which is a spicy beef dish. Recently they added pork belly ramen to the menu after a renovation, and it has quickly become our favorite when we’re craving noodles. We initially expected it to come with broth, but it's actually a broth-less ramen topped with spicy pork belly and a fried egg. It packs quite a punch in the spice department, so the complimentary hot milk tea is perfect for tempering any unexpected heat. If you’re feeling adventurous, definitely stop by this restaurant!
The experience was delightful, particularly with the exceptional food and welcoming atmosphere. The Lamb Momo and Beef Khuushuur were standout dishes that I highly recommend. However, the service could use some improvement, as it didn’t quite match the high quality of the food and ambiance. Overall, a lovely place for lunch!
In summary, this restaurant is amazing. We often order their chicken momos and goulash, both of which feature incredibly tender meat brimming with rich umami flavors. The service is quick, and the taste is always exceptional!
