Rocanini Coffee Roasters - Richmond

One thing we always need after eating fish is a decent cup of coffee with well executed microfoam. Rocanini Coffee can perform that task well enough. We also ordered a walfle because it looked so much like the famous Medina Cafe waffle. When we saw a few freshly made waffles on the side counter on the cooling rack, we almost ordered two, but decided that we should try a bit first before going for the second one. Good thing. The first bit into this proves that looks can be deceiving. The texture was quite 'wholesome ' and not spongy like what we were expecting. Oh well, just coffee next time then. I agree with another recent reviewer that the place is getting run down. Well, it 's big windows help make it more attractive from the outside compared to another near by coffee shop with dark interiors.

I went back here after a long hiatus to see if it was any better and I was so disappointed. It is clear that the owners/management don 't care about this location as it is so dirty and run down. When I see that in the common areas, I wonder about the back end! There is dirt caking the doors, panels, and corners in the floor. The tables aren 't cleaned and it is just starting to look so old. Flooring is chipping away, they are collecting lots of stuff that makes it look kinda junky. Unfortunate, because it is a great location with nice group seating. A little elbow grease and paint would make this place look more inviting.The coffee isn 't bad but the price and environment mean that I won 't be back. Wish someone would take this over and clean it up.

Nice interior. Pastries are a little bit overpriced, the bear coffee is nice, and the service was very kind and efficient.

The Brazil pour over had fantastic flavor. Brew strength could have been a little stronger but still too great to not be a 5.

I ordered blue matcha tea latte with lavender syrup. It was almost like I had a lavender drink. Either because of the lavender aroma was too strong or the matcha was too light.They have wifi and plenty of seats available.
