Bidrage med feedbackThe gumbo had a light brown, watery consistency and contained a few tough shrimp along with some small pieces of fish. It tasted like it had been microwaved. The hush puppies were not warm enough to melt the butter; they were overcooked and tough, as if they had been sitting under a warmer for too long or were cooked from frozen.
This is an awesome place to get your grub, drinks and catch a good game in the screens. Food is the BEST!!! Service is quick, attentive and friendly as should be. I've made it a point to come back soon.
The food was quite disappointing! I ordered the crab-stuffed shrimp, shrimp and crab hush puppies, along with several sides. The crab-stuffed shrimp turned out to be essentially frozen butterfly shrimp filled with frozen crab cake meat, which was mostly breading and felt more like stuffing. The shrimp and crab hush puppies were just fried cheese balls. Every bite was greasier than the last, to the point where I had to tear them apart to drain the grease before eating. I couldn't taste any seafood in those greasy cheesy bites. To top it all off, the supposedly freshly made daily bread pudding was as hard as a brick. The only highlight was the fries, and the total came to $40. I won’t be returning.
Great food, friendly service. Fish and chips, fried mushrooms, and cajun pasta were all delicious. Tried the crab/shrimp hushpuppies but we didn't like them, they were more like a cheese ball with crab and shrimp.
I used to frequent this restaurant for lunch at least once a week when I worked in Richardson. The food was good, but the red beans and rice were exceptional. I moved away a couple of years ago, but I returned for a weekend and decided to have dinner there on Sunday. The place was just as I remembered, though it was quite empty, with only about five other customers, two of whom were sitting outside. The music was too loud, making it difficult for the staff and patrons to hear each other without shouting. The food was mediocre; we ended up receiving a baked quartered potato instead of the buttered red potatoes we had ordered, and the red beans tasted as though they had come straight from a can, served over microwaved rice. I suppose you really can’t go back home, especially on weekends.
